Sacred Pipe

Mis-named for many years by the White Man, the Sacred Pipe, Chanunpah, took many years to make.  The bowl was carved from blood red Pipestone from the only such quarry in the world.  The stem hollowed by hand from a sturdy bush or small tree limb.   Crafted with many prayers to Wakan Tanka and cared for during the lifetime of the owner.  Smoking the Sacred Pipe was tantamount to giving your word, signing a contract, making a promise.  The pipe was offered to the four directions and to Mother Earth and Father Sky, and the smoke rising, represented the bonding of ones word.   Pipe bags were crafted from buckskin, quilled and beaded and cared for with reverence.  Wind woman makes decorative pipes only.  They cannot be smoked.   They make novel wall hangings grouped with Warrior Masks and Adorned Antlers.   Story card included.
