Wedding Necklace
Paintings and antique photos of Native American brides often
picture them wearing necklaces of two, three, or four strands of
beads and 'hair pipe', which were lengths of hollowed and dried
bone. Strands were held separate by 'leather' spacers and
were sometimes waist length.
Windwoman has adapted the 'wedding necklace' to a practical
length and lighter weight to be worn and enjoyed in this
century.
Let us chose the bead colors, or we will happily create to
your personal choice. Please allow a lead time of at least
two weeks to allow for crafting or delivery by mail.

Personal Medicine Bag
Native American men and women wore small, hand made leather
pouches containing seeds, bits of stone and other items of
personal meaning for good medicine (luck) and protection.
Worn around the neck or attached to a belt or legging, it was
carried for the person's lifetime. No one else was allowed
to wear or even touch the Medicine Bag of another.
These bags are 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches with a 36 inch beaded
cord to allow wearing either as a shorter necklace or as a
medallion under clothing. Small nuggets of Turquoise are
inserted to bring good health to the wearer.
(Not recommended for children under six years
of age. Cord may be shortened by cutting to allow item to
be pinned to clothing or worn on a belt. Windwoman will be
happy to alter this item to specifications.) |
