Dream
Catchers
Native American women crafted Dream Catchers from willow branches and sinew from
the Buffalo. Adorned with feathers and fetishes they were hung above the beds of
loved ones so that while they slept, the bad dreams were caught in the webbing to dry and
fade away in the sun. The good dreams slipped through the hole in the middle and
were locked in the hearts of the dreamer.
Made of faux buckskin and
'modern' sinew, the pieces are adorned with natural feathers, simulated 'trade' beads and
fetishes. Colored feathers are available and are made into custom pieces, popular
for graduation gifts, love gifts and for wall decorations in lieu of pheasant and wild
turkey feathers. Dream Catchers are available in 3 inch, 5 inch, 7 inch, 9 inch and
12 inch diameters. The 3 and 5 inch, when done in pastel or white feathers, make
charming and unusual baby gifts to hang above the bassinet or crib.
